Onandaga Caves
They call Missouri the Land Of Caves, due to a claim of some 5500+ caves all throughout the state. Caves are a wonder of creation, and beautiful to behold, with a little bit of light. Looking for a Saturday adventure, I found Onandaga Caves on the map, and gathered my family for a little trip. It was a one to two hour trip Southwest on I-44. We took the 'family-friendly' tour which was nearly three hours, with a guide, and a group of about 35 people. It would've been better with fewer people, as we often had to linger and wait for the group to move on before we get to a certain viewing area, and then they would shut off the lights for that section before we got a good eye-full. We'll go again, sometime, and catch the first tour in the morning when there's a smaller amount of people. For now, here are some pictures I managed to capture along the tour.
