November 15th, 2012 was going to be, according to the forecast, the only clear day the greater Seattle area would see all week, or the following week. Having greatly desired to visit the Mukilteo Lighthouse Park, after moving to an apartment in Everett, only 5 miles away, I deduced that this might be my only chance to do so, for some time.  Unfortunately, this was a work day, and having an urgent errand to run, after work, would place my arrival there, well after sunset.  I went anyway, to see what beauty might be seen.

There's a large parking area down by the water, and a beach walk, with a string of fire pits. I parked, walked toward the beach, and stood there for a few moments, in the chill of the night air, watching the last bit of twilight, listening to the small waves lap the shoreline. It was therapeutic, to say the least.

Starting to Settle in Seattle

That title is not quite accurate, but it looked clever. :) We have found ourselves a decent place to call home, about 15 miles away from our current residence, but it's in Everett, WA, just North of Seattle. It's an apartment, but not in a multiplex. It is independent of any other rentals, so will be similar to renting a house, which is very favorable!
There are some beautiful parks within a few minutes of driving, and we're only 5 miles from the Mukilteo ferry, which takes you to Whidbey Island, a very beautiful place to drive around, or ride a bike!
We begin moving in, today, and though I don't care for the labor, I can't wait to be out of this state of limbo, and settled in the State of Washington.

Pleasant, Pacific Northwest mornings

It is 54°, outside. There is dewfall, and I can see my breath.  We haven't even hit the 80's, for daily highs, yet, but we will, before long. This is Western Washington.
You see, Midwesterners are about ready for their sweltering summer to end, whereas Pacific Northwesterners are aching for their moderate summer to finally begin. It's really quite something.
