Another Winter day in St. Louis

I would say that this has been an all too familiar scene this Winter, but in actuality, it has looked much worse. Cold, dry, sunny days are typically the norm for Mid West winters, but not this year.  We've experienced the typical deep chills, but have been dogged by consistent overcast skies, followed by snow and freezing rain.  In a land where the only color of Winter is the brown of dead foliage and bare trees, blue skies are generally the only positive match.  All others merely increase the gloom.  So I am thankful and take notice when the clouds break to reveal skies of treasured sapphire blue, because that is all we have to look at.  No evergreens, no mountains, and no ocean.  We miss Washington!! :)
