It seems that winter has finally lost its hold over the Midwest, and the atmospheric instability of spring has been unleashed. Each year is different, obviously, with some spring seasons being milder than others, but the outlook for this first full week of April (the real beginning of spring) seems to show promise of a turbulent season. Sunday night, for instance, we experienced the passage of a strong storm system, and beginning with Thursday, leading into next week, there are chances for thunderstorms each day. That is some significant instability!
Unfortunately, the Midwest has no mountains to gaze upon from day to day, but in the warmer seasons of the year, we do get mountainous storm clouds, constantly changing shapes, as they rumble across the sky.
