Blizzard Warning For St. Louis - Feb 01, 2011

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI - FOX2now.com) —

"The National Weather Service has extended a blizzard warning into the St. Louis area. Meteorologists are forecasting more of a snowfall than first reported. The snowfall accumulation totals could be 10 to 15 inches or higher. But that might not be the worst news for the area. Emergency officials say dealing with snow is better than dealing with snow and ice."

This could get interesting!  A blizzard...and just in time for...Groundhog Day!!!  That's right, wood chuck-chuckers!  Well, I made it to work this morning, easily enough, as there was only a thin layer of half-melted ice on the roads, but it has been sleeting since I got here at 7:00AM.  The snow hasn't hit yet, but it's on its way.  Our governor already declared a state of emergency, so I'm curious if they'll close my office building and let me go home early.  I would very much like that...to go home early, brew a latte, then sip on it, while watching the snow fall, covering our dirty, city landscape.
Now, our greatest concern is losing power, because we're forecast to get some bitterly cold temps the next two nights, which would make our house quite uncomfortable.  Our furnace went out last winter, and in a short time, the temperature inside began to drop quickly.  I think it's supposed to dip into the mid teens tonight, and tomorrow night, -4°.  So...we're definitely hoping to keep our electricity. :)
If we actually do get a good dumping of snow, I'll have to climb out on the roof and snap some pics of our neighborhood.
